[Tutorial] Professional Quick Pinned Updo {Keyda]

Have you ever styled your hair out of frustration!?

hah! Well, I experienced quite a frustration trying to style my hair after my wash day. I needed to also have a elegant yet simple style for my school's graduation! However, it ended with a lovely up-do that I pinned up (if I say so myself!). It took me about 30minutes lol but it should literally only take 5minutes. This style and the many renditions, NEVER get old! What's your up-do!?

How to:

1. Moisturize & Seal hair! I used a dab of water, then sealed with CHI Silk Infusion and put a dab of Hair butter.

2. Separate bangs and clip. I made a semi-deep middle part that was off to the side. (not so complicated!) 

3. Gather hair starting from back then securely with bobby pin. Securely pin all hair around side. Now, you look like you want a mohawk! hah! 

4. Separate as needed and pin curl those pieces, securing with bobby pin. Then unclip your bangs. Gather one side and pull atop of head from front to back, securely pinning hair at back. Tip: My bangs were long enough to pinned on the inside of my back pin curls, so no ends could really be seen. Then do other side. 

Vaalaaa! I was going for this style with twists atop... No-go for me... Instead I have this! :) 

Sidebar: Another counselor said " You must wear your hair like this on your wedding day!" lol...No, Imma be flowing! lol

Hola Chicas!

This past weekend was pretty hectic with my dance performance! I must say I think our show was fabulous! I have danced with Contradiction Dance for three years (maybe 4 now lol) and I this was definitely our BEST show yet! :) I used a ton of heat on my hair for both performances and to keep my sleek curls bouncy, I used a ton of hair spray. Needless to say, my hair needed a good washing. Here's what I did:

[A] Detangled with fingers at my roots and with my Magic Rake.

[B] Pre-shampoo with my essential oil mix on my scalp and Paul Mitchell Super Charged Moisturizer on length of my hair.

[C] Shampoo with Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil. I wanted CLEAN hair.

[D] Deep Condition with Organix Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Recovery Mask. I ended with a faux steam session from my EXTRA hot shower! lol

[E] Black Tea Rinse!

[F] Air Dried 100% (excess water soaked from 100% cotton t-shirt), with a light spray of Nexxus Hydralight lift all over with focus on my roots and a dab of Koils by Nature Perfectly Peppermint Hair Butter through my hair.

 

My Hair Reality:
I wanted to braided my hair and do a braid out. Of course, I got sleepy so I actually did a bun in the back of head and have a cute braid out in front! Pero... me encanta! It actually turned out super cute and I received compliments from students which = #win. Overall, my hair and scalp felt so clean and refreshed after a long weekend. I totally needed a break from that heat. My hair has its thickness and continued softness that I love every wash day! I have been really focusing on doing my main regimen without a ton of products and I am loving the outcome! :)

{Keyda} Wash Day - 5 weeks post

I am in awe of my new growth! I really want a touch-up but I shall try to hold out. As I walked through Safeway, there was a sale on Organix Moroccan Argan Creme Conditioner, and I could not resist! Lol! I love Organix products. They are extremely affordable yet awesome on your hair.

New Fave DC

(1) Detangled my hair with my Magic Rake comb
(2) Prepoo with my OddStrandOut Coffee Oil mix on my scalp and the As I Am: Hydration Elation Intensive Conditioner on the length of my hair. I heated up a wet towel to place over my hair then topped with a plastic cap as well. I really wanted the moisture and oil to absorb into my hair.
(3) Cowash with Moroccan Argan Creme Conditioner. I absolutely loved the smell of this product and my hair felt yummy!
(4) Tea rinse with CC's Naturals Happy Hair Tea. Yummy! :)
(5) Smoothing Treatment- I added Roux Porosity Control Conditioner over the tea in my hair and a cap. Then Faux steamed in the shower.
(6) Leave-ins: Unintentionally, I air dried 100%. #FTWNOHEAT I applied Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer on length of hair, Nexxus Hydralight lift on my roots and Organix Coconut Anti-Breakage Serum on my ends.

Results: 
My hair felt very soft yet strong. My scalp looked FABULOUS again! :) woot! I just love a healthy looking scalp. I am really a fan of the new conditioner from Organix...as of now..I would love to try it as a prepoo. I style my hair very simply and plan on going no heat for the entire time till my next wash!
