- Detangled- with my fingers and
- Pre-Shamoo- using extra virgin coconut oil to detangle.
- Shampoo- with Jessicurl Cleansing Cream.
- Extreme deep condition- I deep conditioned with Jessicurl Deep Treatment on the length of my hair. Then I massaged my stands with extra virgin coconut oil, covered with a plastic cap and sat under my hooded dryer for an hour and left it in overnight.
- Green Aloe Hair Rinse- After rinsing the conditioner, I applied 1 part steeped green tea + 1 part aloe vera gel + 1 tbsp Glycerin, using a narrow tip applicator to my strands--focusing on the roots. I let it sit for a few minutes then rinsed.
- Smoothing Treatment- with a large dollop of Matrix Biolage Detangling Solution.
- Air Dried- to 80-85% wrapped in a cotton t-shirt.
- Leave ins- I used the LOC method, starting with a little extra virgin coconut oil, Jessicurl Too Shea Extra Moisturizing Conditioner, my kitchenista Tangerine Vanilla Whipped Hair Butter, and bantu knotted my hair in about 10 sections.
The Results:
My bantu knot curls were super tight after letting them set longer than usual. How I go from BSL/MBL to chin length in a matter of hours still trips me out at times. I wasn't really feeling the ridiculous shrinkage, so I pinned them up into a high bun with a centre part the first day, a high bun with side part the second day, and a tousled side bun the third day. (Check out this tutorial on how I make my bantu knots last here.) I'm not sure where my hair journey is going right now, but I'm enjoying the ride!

Glad you had cute birthday hair. I need to check the tutorial out because I was definitely wondering how you kept the curls intact. One or two good sleeps and my hair is cranky and revolting against any tamed pattern.
ReplyDeleteThis go around, I didn't even use a holding product so I wasn't expecting them to last at all. But I'm excited that they did! Pineappling with a silk scarf does the trick!

They're my favorite too! I'm really not sure that I would have made it this far in my stretch if I didn't have a great heat free way to stretch my roots!
