The Bun Effect: 30 in 30 (Day 31)

Boho Braided Bun

Quick How To:
  1. Begin with moisturized and detangled hair.
  2. Split hair at the crown by creating a part from your temples around the back of your head to the opposite side. Put on any head band with elastic
  3. Gently pull hair up (the hair will cover the back of the head band) as high as you would like and divide into 3 sections. Secure each section with elastics.
  4. Grab a small section of one of your ponytails and create a single braid. Repeat on last two ponytails.
  5. Wrap each section into a bun, being sure to pull the braid around to the front of the bun. Secure  with pins and fluff buns as needed. (I needed 2 pins for each bun.)
If your hair is on the thinner side, it can be hard to get doughy looking buns without the use or extensions or hair doughnuts. Here's a little trick that I came across that's perfect for this look: After I created my single braid, I divided the hair into two sections, then wrapped the first section loosely to the left and secured with a pin. Be sure to wrap the very ends of your hair around your elastic if its not the same color as your hair. Next, I wrapped the last section to the right. This technique stacks the hair and then fluffing will give each bun voluminous va-va-voom!
