My Thoughts:
As soon as I received this 2oz sample size as a part of the Loving MY Hair giveaway sponsored by the lovely Miss Age in ATL back in March, I smiled. One of my favorite bloggers Ebony @ Longing4Length has raved about this company for months. Next, I checked out the ingredients; Water first--excellente. Castor Oil--not exactly what I expected as a number 2 ingredient. Cupuacu butter---I had to google that one. Ha-ha! Lastly, I smelled it. (I see that judgey look in your eyes. Y'all know that my nose is particular!) To my surprise, its scent was very faint and that weird smell that I usually associate with natural products wasn't present!
I tried applying this to damp hair and completely dried hair with similar results. While the product appeared to be light and creamy---it was very oily. My hair seemed to absorb it well, but it doesn't play so nicely with my hair butter. Adding the butter on top of it lead to very oily next day hair---yet moisturized hair. The curliest inches of my strands seemed to like it. The straightest bits were overwhelmed. My multi-textured hair just wasn't on one accord. I moisturized every other day in an futile accept to prevent icky build up. But my hair was still pretty oily by the next wash day---BUT when I hopped in the shower, my hair felt like butter. This got me thinking, If it had just a little more slip, this would be an interesting co-wash. I also used it for a bantu knot out that you guys will never see. I did not take a single pic. Yep--It was that bad. Ha-ha! It has been hard to want to use this one consistently. I just kept choosing other products over it. If this was a battle of the best co-wash; this would would have a real potential. But, Bee Mine Daily Leave-in--- I got asi asi moisture but super oily hair. Meh, I don't think that I'm a fan.
Have you ever tried any other product in the Bee Mine Collection?
Besitos!

I used to really love the Bee Mine DC but then it just stopped working for some reason. It does absolutely nothing for my hair now.
ReplyDeleteI've also used the Bee Curly Butter, which I loved at the time but not enough to get it full-sized, and I was completely infatuated with the cream moisturizer but then it, too, stopped working. *sad face*
Britt @ One&20
*same sad face* Many have said that your hair feels/behaves better with continued use but I just wasn't impressed.
DeleteThanks for stopping by Britt!
Hey there! I just wanted to say thanks for all the sweet comments you've been leaving on my blog (Semi-Charmed Kind of Life) over the past few weeks. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to reply because you're a "no-reply blogger" and there isn't an email address attached to your comments, but I wanted you to know I do read every comment and I appreciate them so much! :)
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks Megan! I've been meaning to update my profile. Thanks for the gentle reminder. Ha-ha! Your blog is awesome!
DeleteI don't have this but I'm always on the look-out for better leave-ins. I like that water is the first ingredient and it has BTMS (Age in ATL wrote about this ingredient).
ReplyDeleteThe ingredient list I s pretty awesome. I wish that it wasn't so oily-feeling!
DeleteI love all things Bee Mine. There is not one product I've tried that I haven't loved. I've been down with them from the start. Although I stray away to try other things, Bee Mine will forever be a staple. I really enjoyed Bee Lovely and it didn't overwhelm my hair. However, my hair seems to soak up anything I use because of low porosity. I have to glob on product sometime to make it feel moisturized.

I also have the scalp moisturizer and it too just doesn't agree with my strands. I guess that my hair isn't a fan of Bee Mine.
DeleteMy faves from that line are Bee Mine Juicy, Hair Milk, Luscious & Beeutiful DCner.
DeleteRelaxed Thairapy
Hmm...I need to check those out! Thanks Darling!
DeleteI haven't tried any of these products, but I want to try the DC that everyone raves about.

I've heard very good things about the DC as well! Word of mouth (or rather of blog) travels fast!
