Hair Blogger Confessions

My hair is usually stupid plain and boring.

I workout 5/6 days a week so I live for an unspectacular high bun.

I look like this for the #washdayexperience...

7 days later, I look like this...

....undercover deep conditioning. Don't judge me.

I really don't wear my hair down much. No. I'm not a protective styling genius. When my hair touches my neck, no matter where I am, I freak out. I'm convinced that a spider, ant, bug, (insert your favorite gross crawly insect here) is crawling on me.

You'll never see me in a face full of makeup. Because....well...I can't. I don't own one tube of lipstick. I don't wear foundation. The only blending that I do is in the kitchen. I'm obviously not as girlie as I think that I am in my head. I'm just a basic latina with my lip balm, Nars Orgasm blush, and maybe (a BIG maybe) a swipe of mascara.

I don't make YouTube videos because the sound of my own voice creeps me out. Plus---who got time for that?!?

My kids are usually cropped out of most of my photos.

Welcome to my gloriously un-fabulous life!

Besitos!
KLP

  3. Such a cute post KLP! I actually started blogging about beauty and fashion because there's way more variety there than what I do with my hair. 6/7 days my hair is in a bun - I also get freaked out by my hair touching my neck haha O___O x

    1. Girl...I have sooo many posts drafted about hair---I just haven't found the time to write them all! And I know nothing at all about beauty and fashion!

  4. Ha, I love this. My blog is supposed to be about not being lazy any more, but I should probably be called despitelaziness instead. It's bun, bun, fake bob, fake bob, style (??), bun every week for me...

  5. This post made me lol the entire way through...in a good way.:) I make videos and outside recording or going to a function, that is the only time I have on makeup or my hair is done. The ladies in my running group had no idea how long my hair was b/c they only saw me with two pigtails that were ALWAYS pinned up. People wonder why my skin doesn't breakout like other beauty bloggers...keep makeup to a min. Girl, you made me clutch my pearls on your lack of makeup. *faints* Meanwhile, I need to get rid of a ton of makeup and my daughters are itching for me to say the word. LOL Okay, I'm done. LOL

    1. The looks that you guys get to see on the blog are pretty much exactly what I wear in real life: Little to no makeup, tee-shirt/jeans (my neighbors actually only see in my workout gear so y'all are lucky!), curls or an updo.

I have crappy skin; sometimes I wish that I knew how to cover it with makeup then I think to myself: would I really do that everyday? Probably not. Ha-ha!

  6. My hair rarely last a whole week styled out but buns can last. Love the realness of the post. You rock!

    1. *clears throat* Ahem Miss Tomi! A bun is a style. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL.

This post was inspired by someone who asked me how I had time to rock my curls every week. The answer was simply: I don't. *shrugs* I wear them for a few hours to a day, then it's updos all the rest of the way. The goal of my sets, aren't to have flawless curls (lord knows that doesn't happen often anyway) but it's to have stretched, tangle free hair.

  7. Thank you for the confession. Those glorious curls from your wash day had me defeated. Its good to know im not the only one who just has a plain jane bun most of the time.

Again this hair cant hold tge rest of my life ransom.

      Thanks for stopping by chica

  10. This was such a cute post! I don't own a stick of lipstick either or eyeshadow or blush or bronzer. The fanciest I get is some foundation, eyeliner, and mascara. Sometimes I'll watch makeup vids on YouTube and the skill some ladies have blows me away.

And when my hair touches my neck? Ohmygawd, just cue up the major freakout-smack my self in the face and neck-shriek in terror-dance in place scene!

    1. Omgosh!!!! *Hi-Five* chica!

I'm sooo glad that I'm not the only one freaking out in public. But why is it always in public tho? #conspiracy

I'll get about 2 minutes into a YouTube makeup tutorial and give up. A different brush, sponge, thingamabob for foundation? #girlbye

  11. I wear my hair out, whip it around and THEN at a random moment grab my own neck in panic, it's retarded!
Your confessions are adorable KLP, can't believe you don't own lipstick-it's my favourite- but then again you don't need it. #naturalbeauty no?

    1. I've NEVER been a lipstick girl. Like...never. I tried it once as a teen; Hated it. Then I tried it again last year with my makeup artist bestie. I ended up with coral (aka nude on my lips) lip gloss. I'm just that lame!
